This small finely woven basket has four standing female "ghost" figures. The heads, arms and feet of the figures are dark and quite visible, but the dresses are there but almost invisible. They are actually light beige in color. It doesn't appear that the color has been bleached by light because the same color of the dresses is on the inside of the basket. Probably when the basket was new, the contrast of the dresses with the natural color of the basket would have been quite distinct but as the basket aged and the coiling got darker, the contrast was lessened.
